The movie Argo is based upon this real life event. Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi started to make changes that the people did not like or agree with. The people then started to riot. The riots got bad and eventually they broke into the American embassy and kidnapped 63 people, but 6 escaped. With the help of the Canadians, the Americans were able to stay hidden and safe from the Iranians. Tony Mendez a CIA agent is then set to retrieve them back safely to the United States. The Iran Hostage Crisis in 1979 has created many positive and negative outcomes

For the final paper I am going to look more into the political side of the riots and about their decision making process. One problem on the political side was President Jimmy Carter, he took a big hit from the public about his leadership, and people were saying that if he had done something sooner the hostages in Iran would be let go sooner or that issues like that would not have arose. When the hostages were released President Carter did go see them but they felt like they were abandoned and unprotected by the government. Another issue was that because of this event, the relationship between Iran and America has changed. To me personally I think that it was wrong of the Iranian people to attack the American embassy, but I also see why they were doing what they were. We accepted their Shah (who has wronged them) into the United States, and did not make any moves to try to calm the people. With these events the United States has created new laws and regulations.

Even today there are still issues similar to this. In recent events the Paris attacks, which was named the second worst terrorist attack since 9/11, raised their security. There are problems blaming the government about letting people into the country and not having enough security to prevent these things from occurring. Because of the governments involvement into everything, they are people that the people turn to when these sorts of things occur.
